About Us

Sentence Counter was built because a surprisingly useful number — how many sentences are in your writing — was nowhere to be found.

Word processors count words. They count characters. They count lines and paragraphs. But sentences? You either had to count them manually or run a workaround using Find & Replace that was never fully accurate. For writers who care about readability, that gap was frustrating.

So we built a tool that fixes it.

What This Tool Does

Sentence Counter is a free, browser-based writing analysis tool. Paste any text and you instantly see:

  • Sentence count — the number that matters most for readability
  • Word count — for length targets and content requirements
  • Character count — with and without spaces, for character-limited formats
  • Paragraph count — to check your structure at a glance
  • Reading time — so you know how long your content takes to read
  • Keyword frequency — to monitor keyword density without switching tools

Everything runs locally in your browser. Your text never leaves your device.

Who We Built This For

Writers of all kinds use this tool every day:

Bloggers who want to make sure their posts are readable and well-paced before they hit publish. Students who need to meet assignment requirements and want to write with better sentence variety. SEO professionals who know that shorter sentences improve Flesch readability scores and page performance. Copywriters who live by brevity and need to trim every sentence until it works. Journalists who care about rhythm as much as they care about accuracy.

If you write, this tool is for you.
